Context

Each department had its own tool. None of them shared data. So reconciliation was a manual job, every week.

Challenge

Every department feeds one ledger. An action in HR or inventory has to land in finance without anybody re-keying it, in a currency that may not be the one the books close in.

   Event-driven modules

   When operations records something that touches money, finance receives the event. Less reconciliation at month end.

   Compliance in the workflow

   Tax rules live inside the accounting workflows, so entries that would violate them cannot be booked.

Trade-offs accepted

• It's a single-tenant monolith — backend and frontend layers coordinated through Docker, one deployment per client. The operational cost scales with the customer list.
• Data entry runs on predefined formats, because corrections in a ledger cost more than they do anywhere else. Accountants lost freedom for that. They cannot record something the form has no field for.
